Okay, I will bite. I find these statements do be incredulous, not because the accusations are not plausible, but because Rhee are making criminal allegatons. I mean, did she report the felony of sleeping with a minor to MPD. What the frack. Did she report the battery of a student to MPD. I think no is the answer to both questions. If such allegations were true, we would have heard about these criminal allegations way before the firings in September 2009. Why are we hearing about them in January 2010. Did she inform the parents at the schools affected. OMG--what will this one say next to justify her disregard of labor laws. I don't know which one frightens more, Rhee's failure to notify the police or Rhee's blatant lies. Yikes!!

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. If Rhee is to be believed (which I don't think she is), there are pedophile teachers out looking for jobs who can accurately say that they are out of work due to budget cuts. They can easily be hired by another school district. Rhee is either a liar or incompetent (though being one does not necessarily rule out the other).

There is a story on this in the print edition of Sat January 23's post, and an update on the DC Schools Insider blog. Rhee has not responded to multiple requests for comment. Also a story on Channel 9 news last night. Video on web. If she didn't make this statement, it seems by now she would have said something. I expect that the initial reporter has her on tape.

Yes--to me it's slander b/cause she KEEPS on HITTING THESE PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE DOWN to make herself look better. The whole firing was shady, these people lost their jobs in a horrible economy, and its bad enough if it's due to mishandled budget cuts. Ok, Rhee has finally shown the WORLD who she really is and now WE will pay for it. DCPS WILL BE SUED NOW by the teachers union and THEY WILL WIN. You do not RIF child molesters and teachers with pending assault charges. You report them to the police and ensure that they will NEVER be hired again by any school district. Rhee is simply backpedaling now. These things never happened and she is simply trying to cover for herself.

Listen, it has been said before. There were tools in place to fire inept teachers. Rhee chose not to use them because she was firing teachers who cost her money. She skirted the rules and has been dancing since then. Now her excuses are going to cost our school district gravely. The ONLY way to insulate the district now would be for the Mayor to fire her now and start distancing our city from this liar and obstructionist.

Rhee needs to answer to this directly in case she is being inacurately quoted. If she really said this, she needs to be fired before the weekend is up. What is the Mayor waiting for? Does he want the school district federalized again? This lawsuit, and there will be a lawsuit, if she said this, will bankrupt DCPS. She has either directly endangerd our kids or she is lying? Either way the suit will crush the District.
