Tights

Okay - more on the tights debate. I admit I was clueless but based on DCUM realized that tights are the in thing so I got a few pairs. But I find them difficult to wear. I think they look good with dark, patterned, not dressy skirts. They look best with suede or patent shoes, or boots. I am also not a fan of mixing colors - e.g., I think black tights only look good with black, dark gray or black patterned skirts. This kind of limits me to a couple of outfits. So what am I missing? I will admit to being fashion challenged and over 40 so maybe I just dont have the right look or the right outfits?

I found this blog posting on tights to be straightforward but useful:

OP, tights work best with very modern shoes - something substantial like a platform, shootie or bootie. Really kinda too heavy for pumps or anything classic. Try a peeptoe or gladiator.

Sometimes, too, it is the tights that made it hard especially if they are too loose or too thick.

Thanks - like this one. Although it kind of confirms my instincts about when tights are appropriate.
