| What if you are just home for an hour in between things. Would you still park in the garage? Husband says we must always park in the garage, but I am not sure it makes sense. And do you use the garage for storage too or just parking? I think we should be able to use the garage for storage too, but husbands says no. Everything must be stored in the house or the garden shed. |

Just sold our house we'd owned over 40 years. The cars NEVER made it into the garage (2-car, freestanding if that matters) the whole time.
Have to say, though, I'm with your DH. Mine is a bit of a hoarder. |
| We have a two car garage and always park in it. We have some shelving and a work bench at the end. We mostly store tools, paper goods and some canned goods. We also store golf clubs in our garage. |
| Where will you put the lawn mower, rakes, shovels , bikes, etc? Do you own BIG SUVs? Sometimes, the garage is deeper than your vehicles so you have room for other stuff. We park in the garage. |
+1. We store lots of stuff and also park there. I only park on the street if we are doing a project (like staining furniture) in the garage or if we expect to have people parking in our driveway for some reason. |
|
Yes, we always park in the garage. We have hooks on the wall to hold stuff, including bikes.
The garage is for cars. If you need more storage, find some place in the house; rent a storage unit, or get rid of some stuff. |
+1 we ALWAYS park in the garage overnight. The only time I will ever park in the driveway is a rare occasion when I go out and then have to drop something off at home (like groceries) and then go right back out. I will park in the garage if I plan to be home an hour. We are able to fit our two SUVs, lawnmower and a few other garden tools (weedwacker) and a storage shelf full of crap too. It is a constant battle to not have too much stuff in there and both cars so it helps us to purge. |
| We store the garden and chicken stuff in the garage. The cars are parked in there, except like you, if we're using them multiple times in a short period of time But overnight? Always inside the garage. |
|
We always park in the garage, unless, as you suggested, we know we are just parking at the house and then going out in a few hours.
|
| One car in, one car out. |
| We never park in the garage |
| yes, both cars in garage for the most part, even if it's for an hour. |
|
I don’t park in the garage if I’m only home for an hour unless it’s blazing hot or raining.
Your husband sounds controlling, unfortunately. |
| Yes, almost always. |
| Always in the garage and items are stored in there as well. |
