CARES Act for Nanny?

Anonymous
Has anyone had their nanny file for unemployment and been able to get them compensation through the CARES act? (of course since not being able to use them at this time.)

Yes, they simply need to file for unemployment with the state and the federal benefits kick in.

Thanks! Do you know how long they take to kick in?

Just to clarify, you know nannies are allowed to work now, right?

If the parents don’t need her, then she doesn’t have to work. Whether she can or not may be irrelevant.

Certainly. The OP said they were "able" to use the nanny, not that they didn't need to use the nanny. There's been a lot of FUD being spread here about COVID-related rules, so I just wanted to make sure the OP understood nannies have always been allowed to work, even during the stay-at-home orders.
