If you really want to have a speculative discussion we can talk about take-up rates! At least IB numbers are released by DCPS, we should know the actual number this fall. I don't think DCPS knows the number of kids IB for each school who go private, or the total IB school-age population for each school. Based on feeder school populations I think Hardy has about half as many feeder kids per seat as Deal does, so even if it had the same take-up rate it would still be majority-OOB.

It's by zip code. The zip code with the highest percentage of private school kids in DC is 20008, which is IB for Deal, where 73% of kids go private. Number two is 20007, IB for Hardy, at 68%.

The distinction between IB numbers and school quality is a distinction without a difference. IB numbers are the manifestation of perceived school quality.

That's one opinion. Its why many are interested in IB numbers. But the reason why some people are interested does not mean the topic of the thread should discuss anything related to that reason.

Deal could junk the school uniforms and save some $ that way.

(or maybe Deal could add them).

The school doesn't pay for the uniforms, parents do.

Is there an opt-out if the parents don't want to pay for them?
