What is with all the diamond motifs? On the walls, in the tiles, on the carpets?

This house has a long long history and is almost always on the market. Something like a guy built it himself to have a boys home and then fled to Hawaii?? I can’t remember exactly but I think there was a wapo story on it. No one has been able to salvage it since.

Wow, the house takes up the entire lot, basically.

Would love to hear a story. Anyone got a link to this story?

Pp here I was searching and someone more skilled found it for me above! Truly a bizarre story. He took the original hone apart board by board and tatted building it himself. The boys home thing must have been a rumor, that’s what I heard in the neighborhood. But he did ditch it and go to Hawaii. Definitely bizarre.

10,000 square feet for $1.3M in Arlington?! - what's the street view a drug rehab clinic?

I mean...its not bad.

A lot of open-air rooms which could be closed off with walls easily. Rip out the basement tile and chop up the island.

Not seeing the issue here?

How much will the gas bill be in winter???

I love how the floor plans just describe some of the rooms as “Room.” But it has more character than 90% of the houses in Arlington, which are just incredibly bland.

My daughter would drool over the basement, it’s a perfect dance studio.

Normally I’d say I would never want that much square footage but this spring has changed my mind.

I have 4 kids and a spouse. I work from home. If we had an au pair, 7 BR wouldn't be excessive (each kid with own room; parents own room; au pair own room; office).
