First off, I called my pediatrician. And I'm not worried about my kid. And yes, I would like strangers to weigh in.
A couple hours ago after eating snack, he complained of a head ache. I gave some Tylenol, and 10 minutes later he threw up. By the time I got back with a new trashcan liner, he was sound asleep. Slept for over an hour. Woke up, seems fine, asking for food because he's hungry. Any takers? |
Was he outside? The weather today is obscenely hot and humid. My kid complained of nausea and a headache after just a few minutes outside. And he’s usually super hardy. |
This happened to us last week. I ended up with something too which has been on and off this week. We are staying home too. Probably food related |
Yesterday my kid spun around the tire swing for a long time. Afterwards she wanted to ride with me to pick up take out and threw up on the way home.
I think it was partly the heat, spinning and not drinking enough water. I didn’t even call the pediatrician. Today she was back to normal. Actually, last night she was back to normal. I gave her a bath and she even ate dinner after. |
Yes, he spent a lot of time outside today. I was thinking it was something along those lines too, but a lot of the info online seems to indicate that heat exhaustion comes with a fever, which he did not have. It feels like he's way too happy and hungry right now to have a stomach bug. |
My teen vomited three times one night last week. She was tired and totally uninterested in food for about 24 hours, then suddenly asked for mac and cheese and has been fine ever since. I figure she probably ate something that disagreed with her. |
That used to happen to my teen when she was younger and overheated. Now she gets migraines with the same symptoms. |
Actually sounds like a migraine. My daughter started at 8 or 9. She'd complain of a headache.....puke.....sleep....and that was it. Now if we get her enough water and some motrin at the headache stage we avoid the puke. |
My kids throw up anytime they get ibuprofin. Tylenol is easier on the stomach, but it can still cause vomiting. |
This happened to us a few weeks back. 6 year old complained of headache, low grade fever, threw up twice. Better by morning. We had him tested for corona just out of abundance of caution and not wanting to quarantine. He was negative and no one else in family got sick. Must have been food related. |
This sounds exactly like what happened. He begged for dinner after he woke up and was bouncing off the walls. I think that's too fast a recovery for something like food poisoning. |
I often get nausea from headaches. Thurs and today were particularly bad for me actually...I think because of the weather (maybe pressure change from rain) or allergies. |
Heat. |
Strep? |
Overheated. A few years ago my oldest spent all day outside at field day, drank almost nothing, and came home and threw up. Completely fine the next day. |
