Last try. Does anyone know anything about solid wood front doors? We need one but I don't know where to start. All the online advice I'm finding relates to the fiber glass and steel doors.

It’s been a while but the first thing we did when we bought our house was to replace the early 80s steel front door with a solid wood one. We got/ordered it at TW Perry https://www.twperry.com and had it installed by a contractor. Then we did it again in the back with a door from Wheaton Door & Window https://www.wheatondw.com/ who also installed it - they had done our replacement windows in the meantime. I honestly don’t remember the brand or brands, what was important was that they were solid wood and had selections/styles that would work with our 150-year-old house.

It really depends on what you are looking for OP. You get can basic solid standard wood door from any hardware/lumber store for a couple hundred. Or you can spend 20k plus for a higher end door. Plus everything in between. What are you looking for, style, budget, size?

I am not sure where to set my budget because I’m not sure how much it costs to get mid-upper quality. Let me ask another way: I want the Volvo of wood front doors. Well designed, modern, good materials and craftsmanship, pleasant to use. I don’t want and can’t afford a Mercedes or BMW but I definitely want something better than a Toyota or Mazda. Who would that be?

Thanks! How do you like them? Do they feel sturdy and long-lasting?

This does not say "wood" to me. I currently have a wood door that came with my house, but in my last house I replaced wood with fiberglass.
