Diarrhea (more than three movements of loose stools per day). Explain please?

Anonymous
So if my 3 year old only has 1 loose stool that is not diarrhea?

Does the number of times really matter that much?

Can you please cite the reference you are using for this? Thanks.

It matters in terms of dehydration. The more diarrhea, the greater the chance of dehydration.

OMG - this a question for your child's pediatrician, not the internet.

You are using one definition for diarrhea. There is more than one definition. If you cite your source, people can evaluate it for reliability.

You need to provide a context.

That is the normal definition of diarrhea: increased frequency + altered texture. Not sure what the question is.
