Restrooms (or a bush/woods) along Highway 29 in Virginia?

Anonymous
We are heading down to see our parents after being pretty orthodox about the stay at home order, so we feel like we are likely safe to visit. Anticipating restrooms aren't available along the way, or are they? - along 29. Or should we plan on finding some wooded areas along the way?

Anyone cover this stretch of highway and have some tips to offer?

Restrooms are available everywhere. Gas stations, grocery stores, rest stops. The world is business as usual pretty much. Just bring your mask and hand sanitizer and you will be totally fine.

I drive from DC to Lynchburg and back every other weekend on RT 29.

It’s a perfectly safe trip, with plenty of amenities. The only truly “empty” stretch is south of Charlottesville, through Nelson County. From 250/64 down to Lovingston, about 20 miles, there isn’t much. But other than that, there’s fuel at least every 10 miles.

where along route 29? You might look at a map and see what businesses are located at a point where you might feel the need to stop. Then you could call that business (like a Wendy's or a gas station) and ask them if their restrooms are open for customers. I'd probably do that.

We stop at the Shell station on 29 approaching Charlottesville at Greenbrier Road a few blocks down from the McDonalds. We’ve been stopping there for gas, coffee, bathroom for years. The bathrooms are currently open.
