Duke Ellington distance learning

How is Duke Ellington handling distance learning?

Would love to hear experiences from current families. Especially interested if the school has indicated how COVID-19 will affect their programs like vocal music and musical theatre, given the concerns about spread through singing? I've also seen articles about industry concerns about spread through wind instruments.

Have a musical kid who will be in 8th grade this fall and may be interested in auditioning. We realize there is a possibility of a lot of modifications in the program. Don't see any specific updates about this on their website. Thanks in advance for any info from current families.

Do they now have a musical theatre program? They have theatre (acting) and they have voice, but they did not have musical theatre unless that was new this year.

Do they now have a musical theatre program? They have theatre (acting) and they have voice, but they did not have musical theatre unless that was new this year.

Musical theatre isn't one of the disciplines at Ellington. Every few years they put on a musical, but drama and voice are distinct programs and you must audition and specialize in one or the other.

I am an Ellington fan, but their website is not great. Don't expect to glean much there. Ask around until you find someone who knows someone whose kid attends/attended.
