Ours is now closed "until further notice." I was hoping Mayor Bowser would address daycare today, but I couldn't find anything reported. And we are still being charged to hold our spots, but until when? Rhetorical question, just venting.... |
Wow. I don’t know when they will re-open... but I so think its a bit crazy you’re expected to pay full. The first month we were asked to make a donation. Now they have the PPP loan we aren’t expected to pay anything. |
You should find a daycare in Bethesda as it is close enough to DC without the hassle |
Yeah in Bethesda not paying now |
Daycares in DC have never been closed by the government. They are considered an essential business. Yours is choosing not to open. |
Honestly, I read the COVID guidelines and I’m picturing a military-style operation rather than the loving, snuggly, hands-on activity preschool we are used to. Be grateful if you can make it work without needing childcare right now. |
They trying to open in June. It gonna be sick |
We were charged full tuition at first but now half tuition. I thought that OSSE had told them to close? |
Depends on where. We are being charged 33%, and encouraging people to pay more, all with no idea when they will reopen and, even when open, how many people they will be able to accommodate. We probably won’t pay after May without better assurance of actual care coming soon. |
No, as long as they are following the guidelines they have not been forced to close. |
Ours opens on 6/1. We plan to return. |
I can’t believe that they are making you pay in full indefinitely. |
what daycare, op? |
Ours is too. At first it was on a voluntary basis, and we and must other families paid so the teachers could get paid. But a couple of parents were laid off/furloughed and had to stop. Director told them they would lose their spots. So nuts. After that I just wanted to pull out and probably would have if our kid wasn’t under 2. |
