Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| All I've been able to find on the Sibley Web site is that parking is at "reasonable" rates. Can anyone who's been there recently say how much parking is, whether it's cash-only, etc? Thanks! |
| $8/day -- not sure if they take credit cards. |
| DH parked in the lot when he dropped me off, but he parked on the street for the rest of the day and when visiting subsequently. There are almost always spots on Macarthur if you turn right off Loughboro. And it's free! |
| My husband only had to pay once I think. A couple of nights he left late and the gate was up. |
| I was there one day for a meeting and it was 12 dollars. Not sure if there is some discount if you are a patient though... |

Not sure about the rates, but I wanted to note that when we arrived around noon on Monday, there were no spots left in the lot. They offered valet, but we didn't want to do that b/c we wanted to be able to get the car later in the evening and weren't sure if that would be possible. We ended up parking on the street and it wasn't TOO far, but it was annoying given that I was 9 months pregnant and we were lugging all of our hospital stay stuff.
Also, a lot of the parking the we saw close by was resident permit parking, zone 3. So be careful about where you park if you're not zone 3. |
| We found out after our breast feeding class that the gate goes up after 9 or 10 pm. I can't remember exactly. Cash only though if you do need to pay. Bank of America ATM in the hospital. |
| We were told that if you need to leave during a pregnancy stay you can let the attendant know and they won't charge you. I don't know if I buy it, but this info has come from multiple sources. |
Allow me to clarify, you can leave and return and only be charged once for the visit. |

If you leave after 9:30pm, the attendant is gone and the parking is free. I think it is $11 or $12 a day.
Also, the attendant saw the "new baby" helium balloon in my husband's car when he was bringing the car around to get me and the baby, and he waived the 2 days worth of parking fees. So cross your fingers that someone brings you one of those balloons! |
