| After 40 years of never having dark shadows under my eyes (even when I had insomnia), I'm starting to get them. I'm assuming that this is another lovely side effect of peri-menopause, as I can't think of any other reason. Is there anything I can do, whether to stop it or cover it up???? |

OP, it's just part of ageing. Happened to me too and I'm nowhere near menpause. It is the skin getting thinner and more translucent around the eyes.
You can help the process. There are some eye creams that help. I use Strivectin and have seen a difference. I also use Frownies there at night that keeps the blood from pooling. Also, sleep with your head up slightly - and on your back. If those don't work, collagen injections there will help eliminate. |
| Ah, thinning skin, that makes sense. Collagen injections in the area sound painful - I'm still warming up to the idea of any kind of injections, but may get there fast. Why does Strivectin work? |

PP here. I remember reading an article about why Strivectin works but can't remember. I use a number of their products and see definite results.
I use the eye cream every morning and started seeing less darkness after about 3 weeks or so. It's still there, just much less of it. Start with the other easier stuff and see what happens before you consider seeing a doctor. Some of the darkness can be prevented. |
| Allergies can cause the circles, too...or sinus congestion. |
