Amazon just delivered it to my door. I had forgot that I pre-ordered!

There’s already a wait list to read it in my house. Anyone else super excited?

Did not know this existed. Thanks OP!

Just finished this. It was a good read. I wonder if Collins has plans to do it prequels for any other Hunger Games characters? Haymitch maybe? I'm not as interested in following Snow as a character further in the series but I love the world she created.

There is a teaser for the movie on YouTube.

My kids tried reading this after devouring the original books and got no where. I don't now if it's because the book doesn't hold up as well, or if they just outgrew reading them.

It's hard to fall in love with Snow as a character because you know how bad he'll become. Katniss had that hero quality that made you want to root for her. Lucy Gray kinda had that but it's not about her.

Yeah, it’s a really different kind of book than the original series. Both my son and I love The Hunger Games and have read and reread and watched and rewatched. We both read Songbirds and Snakes, and enjoyed it. But it’s dark without anyone to root for. It’s the origin story of a villain, not a story about the ultimate triumph of good over evil.
