How Do I Register To Vote?

Anonymous
I lived in DC for ten years, moved to Maryland for three, and moved back to DC in February. When I changed my address and license over in February, I chose the option to automatically register to vote. I checked my status on the board of election's website back in April and saw that I wasn't in their system. I registered online, waited two weeks, and got a message saying that I still wasn't in the system. I've tried once a week for the last three weeks, and it still says I'm not registered. I tried calling the board of election, but all I get is a voicemail saying everything is being done remotely and to check their website.

Any ideas?

The deadline for online registration for the June 2 election has passed, but you can still register in person. Early voting is open May 22 - June 1 excepting Memorial Day and you can also register on June 2. There are only 20 voting centers in DC and you have to bring a proof of residency (ie lease, bank statement, deed record, license etc) in order to register in-person.
