Towson or Dulaney?

We are moving to a home assigned to one of those high schools this summer. It seems like the schools are very similar, but is one better than the other? We are a multiracial family coming from a private school in Delaware. We love diversity of cultures and people. We also have management level professional jobs. My job will either be downtown or near Dulaney High School, DH will be working in Harford County. The kids are involved in basketball and the arts. Our youngest is really motivated and is at the top of her class and she thrives in a competitive environment. DS needs some hand holding, but has done pretty well in his freshman year. He's in on level college prep courses.
We like being close to restaurants, the pool, grocery store(including Costco) also.

I do like most of the houses in the Dulaney area, but I'm looking to keep our options open at the moment

No real difference, chose whichever works best for you geographically. The downside to both is size, they both have very large student populations.

Rereading your post, I would go with Delaney, easier commute to Harford county for your husband.

This. He can always take back roads if the 95 traffic gets bad which it does a lot.

This is a good point.
Thank you!

My high schooler says the kids she knows at Dulaney who could use more teacher support are more likely to get it, the kids she knows at Towson seem to be in a more sink-or-swim environment. Dulaney's in worse physical shape, Towson's overcrowded, there's no immediate fix for either so expect your kids to deal with what's there when you look at the schools. Both schools have active parent involvement and high achievers are likely to do well. If you decide based on which neighborhood you end up liking more, that's as good a metric as any other between the two schools.

It seems like we will focus on Dulaney! Thanks so much!
