New homeschooling platform, with a resources library

Anonymous
This is a new website that includes a library of resources. Some are well known, some were new to me. It looks like they have big plans and big investors.

Nice website. As a current homeschooler, I would be very nervous about signing up with them until I knew how long they have been working to develop this program. Is this just being thrown together to address COVID or was it in the works for awhile. There are many tested curriculum/course providers.

It doesn't look like they're providing any kind of curriculum themselves at this point, and are instead linking to existing programs that people can piece together to create their own custom curriculum, and then will add some other features linking people to subject experts and to other homeschoolers. Their intro page said they started working on it last year, though I don't really see why it matters if it started pre-COVID or not -- something's either valuable, or it isn't.

This looks like a spam post.

I joined with a burner email and all they say is:

Thanks for joining us! We just emailed you a bit more about what we're building.

And on the site itself:

Coming August 2020 for kids ages 5-18 (kids who can't read yet will need a parent)

It looks like some unethical people collecting emails from people to spam them later, by acting like they have something on offer now. Not good.

It looks like they got a lot of investment money: https://techcrunch.com/2020/05/12/homeschooling-startup-primer-closes-3-7m-seed-round-led-by-founders-fund/
Silicon Valley people would not be investing millions in an email phishing scam.

Not the PP, but I assume they were referring to providers such as Outschool, Khan Academy, Oak Meadow, Well Trained Mind, Prenda at Home, etc. A lot are listed on www.schoolclosures.org
