All day camps for 4 year olds - bethesda area

Anonymous
Hi -- we enjoyed our camp experiences last year at a local preschool but this summer I'm looking for more skill development / special topic or sports related camps for 4 year olds that others have found to be good for high energy and inquistive kids.

My only criteria is an all day camp that doesn't have "nap time" -- he's broken the nap habit so keeping him engaged all day is ideal. I heard that there is a new sports camp at Bullis for 4's but would love to know of other options.

Thx in advance.

Headfirst has all day camp at the Mater Dei School. Check out their website www.headfirstcamps.com

Re: "nap time" I cannot imagine an all day program for 4 year olds where there isn't some type of "quiet time".

KaleidoKids, soccer, and Travelers programs are open to 4 year olds at Sidwell's Lower School campus in Bethesda.

Kaleidokids is the portion of the Kaleidoscope program that is geared towards our youngest campers. KaleidoKids are grouped together by age into homebases with one teacher and one counselor. All of our KaleidoKids homebase teachers are independent school or certified public school teachers with experience in early childhood education. As a group each KaleidoKid homebase will take advantage of the full array of workshop options each day. Each summer at Kaleidoscope we pick a theme that helps structure our camp program. The summer 2010 theme is: World Cup! In celebration of the 2010 World Cup, each session of camp will focus on a different region of the world. Certain workshops and planned activities like Cooking, Sports & Games, Music, Arts & Crafts, and Friday Campus Celebrations, will directly relate to the specific regions.

Travelers is a culture and language program (Chinese, Spanish, and French sessions offered) - cultural activities include sports & games, cooking, arts, etc.

Soccer is coached by either Bethesda Soccer Club coaches or DC United defender Bryan Namoff's Soccer Pros coaches.
