We are going to pay our nanny on the books so that she can have access to social security, Medicare, and federal and DC unemployment insurance benefits. Those I have to pay annually for household employees.
What I’m confused about is how often and the easiest way to pay the DC PFL paid family leave tax of 0.62%. Can someone who’s done this provide some guidance? TIA! |
Is no one else paying the DC PFL tax for their nanny? |
I think you should ask on the nanny forum. They probably know better. |
I did it for my housecleaner. For DC, household employers can do it once a year as part of their DC taxes. I was already paying her DC unemployment this way and I just did the same once they added family leave. It's a little confusing because I signed up for emails about webinars and they were all focused on non-household employers who have to file quarterly. But with a nanny you should be able to do it once a year with your taxes. |
