Fast Footwork

What is the best way to improve fast footwork? Techne isn't all that . . . My DC's teammates post these Eddie Johnson drills. Is this a good use of home training time? If so, seriously-- how do these kids remember all 500 moves in the drill to repeat at high speed. Please- I'm looking for guidance, not snark. We're trying to make the most of individual skill development during quarantine time and I'd appreciate guidance from more seasoned soccer parents.

Boxing has a lot. Jumping rope etc. you are right about the techno stuff. If you are only doing that you will seem so slow but so will everyone else!

One thing that is also noteworthy: both were in the Academy system of the Premier League, but both didn't make it. They occasionally play with like a League 7 side every now and then. It's good to point out to kids that despite all the skills these guys had, they didn't get a chance to take it to the top level (which can help kids understand how much hard work is needed, if that is their goal).

Coach here - Repetition is the key, and while some SAQ training without the ball is good, make sure you're also getting plenty of training with the ball.

You don't need a ton of drills just a handful (or two) that work for your kid. Mix it up so they aren't doing the same one's every day/session, but you want a small enough set so they can get enough repetition to get good at them.

Time and patience. Try and make a game out of it.
