We decided to wait until next year to apply for kindergarten. Did we miss the window of opportunity by not applying this year for pre-K? Many of our friends were successful this year. Some weren't successful, but at least expressed interest by applying (and probably have a leg up for next year). I know -- there's nothing we can do about it now. But we're feeling a bit of regret/anxiety already. |
no. many people successfully apply for k, especially if you are coming from a good prek. you'll be fine i'm sure. |
I'm sorry to be discouraging but as a family that applied only in K (moved recently to DC) and whose child was not accepted at any of the "top" DC schools, I do feel that we missed an important opportunity by not applying at pre-K. There are definitely more spots available at most schools, and I think a number of people make it in the second time around. Still, nothing to be done about it now! |
I definitely don't think you missed the boat. Some great schools don't even have pre-ks so have lots of openings at K. |
