Our neighbors just had their first baby. We aren’t super close- they just moved in last fall. But we would like to do something small to acknowledge the milestone. What would be appropriate during this pandemic? I feel like all gifts are potentially worrisome... |
Send or have delivered a gift and let them sanitize it.
I’ve been sending birthday gifts early to give the kids’ parents a chance to leave it untouched for a few days or disinfect as they see fit. |
New parents always need easy to heat up dinners. I’d just ask what they’d like... are they ordering meals from anyplace in particular? Maybe a gift certificate to their favorite place. |
I think a gift card for a restaurant doing delivery or takeout would be nice. I had no time to cook soon after having my baby. |
Food. Always food!!!
|
If a neighbor I didn't know very well did anything other than drop a card in my mailbox, it would seem odd to me.

Food. We are arranging a few nights of deliveries from their favorite restaurants (which I'm going organize with the husband in advance, so I know exactly what to order). |
The best gift I got after giving birth was an Ubereats giftcard. |
A giftcard for takeout/delivery is probably all they want. |
Uber Eats gift certificate. We got this when my DS was born last year and it was a lifesaver. |
