Noticed today that Quince Orchard High School's Great School rating dropped to 5/10. I know, I know. We on DCUM give Greatschools a grain of salt. But seriously?!!!! FIVE OUT OF TEN.

| The GS ratings have been changing in weird ways this week. The VA school forum folks noted it too. |
| Is it a great school for your kid? Yes? Then what is the problem? |
| oh no you better all move or something |
No, I have never thought it was a great school for my children. But in the past, the ratings were pretty decent, so I was hoping I was missing something. |
Ah, so you use a crap website to justify your opinion. You realize the test scores for white and Asian kids are good at QOHS, right? You don’t want your kids there because of the black and brown kids. Be honest. |
Are you kidding me??? Look, the ratings fell. Please just tell me why. |
Because GS is a sht website that changes ratings to keep people like you hooked. |
QOHS is #802 in the country on USNWR and #8 in MoCo. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/maryland/districts/montgomery-county-public-schools-104047 So either USNWR or GS are wrong. |
| I'm so confused. The rating went down. Why? Does this fall on the hands of the administration, of the students? Or am I just to assume that Great Schools is racist? Or Great Schools is a conspiracy website? Honestly- someone tell me. |
It’s a proxy for demographics. Nothing more. Tell me — why would it be a 5 on GS and #8 in MoCo on USNWR? One has to be wrong. I’m going with GS. USNWR is far from perfect, but they’re a more reputable organization than GS. |
QO is very very white... |
Umm ... what? First of all, it’s less white than the “W” schools that people around here love. Second, it’s 40% white. You are very ignorant. |
| Dear OP, I wrote a post about the ratings when they first came out, not sure if I can find it. The reasoning lies in some of the test scores. If you open up test scores by grade, if I recall English is very poorly taught. There is also a low Algebra 1 pass rate, but ignore that since most of the stronger students took the class and passed the test in middle school. |
| Op, the high school that I attended is a 2/10 on gs. Yet, I went to college, felt well prepared, and got a fulfilling job. And the same goes for many of my classmates!! |
