GA is now the B or C league.

Anonymous
Can we just admit that GA League is the B league? When DA first started, it literally took some of the best clubs in ECNL. Since the inaugural season, the top clubs returned including PDA, FC Stars, and Michigan Hawks. Other clubs have followed and since the end of the DA, the ECNL picked up many of the ECNL who left for the DA. Some strong clubs have been left on the outside including FCV and Lonestar but other new clubs were picked up including Pipeline.

Based on the above, ECNL is the A league and GA is basically an superior EDP with way more travel for a similar level of competitive soccer.

Agreed, not in this area, no. Perhaps on the west coast, yes, but that's really irrelevant to NOVA and MD

This is probably the 10th time that list has been posted and it still doesn't show that LOCAL ECNL is better than GA! Trolling without substance doesn't mean much and coaches/teams didn't evaporate with the one letter change in the abbreviation. In fact, I'm hearing that acceptance rates for returning players on high performing GA teams is very high, and that worse teams have gotten influxes of better players.

Local. Girls. Clubs 8th grade thru 12th. Probably aggregate rankings in terms of best performing teams across these ages.
1 FCV (GA)
2 McLean (ECNL)
3 Bethesda / Pipeline tie (ECNL)
4 Maryland United (ECNL)
5 Arlington (GA)
6 VDA/Loudoun/BRYC tie (ECNL)
7 Metro U. (GA)

So kind of a tossup. A lot more ECNL teams than GA teams in the area. I think four years from now FCV will slip to near bottom while Loudoun moves up to top 4 and either BRYC or MU will merge or no longer be in the elite leagues. Rest stay about the same.

Maybe. Or maybe Arlington and Metro U will rank better than shown above. Maybe ECNL will make offers to a couple GA clubs and they will accept. Maybe the converse will happen. Per Loudoun’s message and very large asset base and inability to pay their debts without revenue, maybe they don’t even exist in a year. We just don’t know. Six months ago, we didn’t know US Soccer was going to dump boys and girls DA programs, there would be 30 million unemployed over the past three months, and we’d be practically locked in our homes.

The world moves fast, if you blink you may miss it.

Is it the inability to understand past and present trends OR lack of commons sense that leads to the faulty analysis above?

By the way, the NJ boards are reporting that the player pool from the NJ GA clubs are staring to show signs of moving to ECNL clubs.

Maybe in Virginia, but not elsewhere in the Atlantic Division. The people in NJ are calling it the "Virginia league" and have no desire to travel down here when ECNL rules in the NE.

Uh huh. It's not faulty analysis, just speculation, like yours. The reality is that no one knows what will happen.

It's funny that you think NJ players are moving anywhere.....they are more locked down up there than we are. Unless its by osmosis, no one has moved anywhere as yet, and the data I have from credible sources (aka parents and coaches, not anon forums) is that the DA -> GA player continuity is very strong.

Pretty simple for those at FCV or Arlington making the choice.

Stay with your better team or downgrade to a lesser team in ECNL. Development happens in training. So training with stronger players makes you stronger. Not the only factor in development but probably the biggest.

Hmmm. Seems like an obvious choice. At least for 20-21 season. Beyond that you have to reassess every year.

If the shutdown extends into the fall and next spring, it's more likely Loudoun Soccer will be no more than any of the other speculation.

Money talks and the balance sheet isn't looking good with no rec and travel/rec revenue coming in. I'd be more concerned with that if I were one of the ECNL enthusiasts here.

There was a lot of talk on this board a few weeks ago about a huge move of players to ECNL teams. Doesn't sound now like that is what is happening. Players move every year, but I'm not hearing about large groups of players making a move different from any other year. I guess the ECNL fans are working the NJ boards just like they do here.

More propaganda.

Question for Pipeline people: Are you seeing a shift in players from Amour to Pipeline?

Propaganda? This whole thread is a propaganda troll effort against a league.
