Any suggestions on where we can go to celebrate my son’s bday? It will just be the 4 of us, no bday party. We wanted to go to National Arboretum, but surprised to learn that it’s closed. All petting farms are closed. Glen Echo is closed. Just want to make it a little special besides staying home all day which is what we do all week. |
Where do you live? Assuming you don’t mean this weekend go for a little hike and have a picnic somewhere. |
Walk around your neighborhood |
This. Make it special. Decorate your stroller or wagon and make yourself a little parade. DC won't know the difference. |
Brookside gardens might be open. |
I'm taking my 3 year old on an "adventure" to look at several big construction sites with fun snacks along the way |
OP here. We live in MD, but we don’t mind driving up to 30-40 mins. |
It’s a pandemic. Go to a local park. |
We do, every weekend. We want to do something just a tad more special. |
How about a treasure hunt with clues (photos of treasures in hidden location on phone to find). You can do it in the yard, ask neighbors permission to hide in their front yards in the neighborhood or have DH go a head and do so at the park. |
OP here. Unfortunately, my son won’t get that. I read about drive through visits at the zoos in Northern Va. I wonder if that’s worth the $$. |
There was a certifikid deal for strawberry picking, you make an appointment.. |
The zoos have drive thrus. Roers zoofari and leesburg animal park. For a superior experience, Va safari park but there is a long drive. I have not done any of these but plan to with my 3yo if the zoos don’t open. |
Go somewhere with a creek and let him wade, throw rocks in, etc. That is plenty of entertainment for a 2 yo. |
Who has strawberries locally this early? |
