My toddler loves riding his balance bike but unfortunately is ruining his sneakers because he drags his toes along the ground to stop himself. We’re working with him to stop doing it this way, but in the meantime I’m looking for shoes that will hold up a bit better to this. Any recs other than Keens? |
Osh Kosh makes some with reinforced toes too. |
Osh kosh or stride right with the reinforced toe that has plastic going up it. |
Plae has a nice reinforced toe on all their shoes. |
Keen - my kid has never busted through any Keen shoes. |
Definitely, Keen. |

When our son was learning on his balance bike, I bought some extra pairs of shoes at consignment stores that were just for riding his bike or playing outside when it was muddy. I bought two pairs that were under $10 each and just kept them around for exactly that. When he wore out one, it wasn't a big deal to just toss in the trash. We didn't ride every day, so we made it through one summer with just two pair. He had nicer shoes for when we were not doing those activities that are really hard on shoes. Worked fine for us. |
I had a friend who used to buy her son Geox sneakers for this very reason. |
