Best outdoor spots during COVID with kids?

We are looking to expand beyond our usual RCP/beach drive walks/scooter trips with our 4 year old. Where else are people going for some outside time with kids in the DMV? Willing to drive 1 hour from DC. Going on week days, so hopefully we won’t face crowds.

We are seeking all suggestions—any spots to hike/walk/scoot would be awesome.

I’d also love some suggestions that are near water—my kid loves to dig in sand, toss rocks into water, etc. Not required but, that’s be great. We’ve done this a ton in RCP, and I’m looking to expand my options a bit in a responsible socially-distant way.

Might as well use furlough days well!
