Baby gift ideas when parent is not registered

Hello, I need baby gift ideas please for a pregnant co-worker. We will be giving her something practical, like an Amazon or Door Dash gift card. But we also want to get her a baby gift. This is her second child, so we don't want to get books. I was thinking a pack of Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. Any suggestions for something nice and practical?

Just add that money to the amazon/door dash gift card you're getting him/zim/her/zer. Nobody needs more blankets or baby crap especially if it's their/zheir second child.

I would assume she has all the swaddle blankets she needs (I have a million). Why not books that have been published since her first was born? I like You Are New by Lucy Knisley, which came out in 2019. Or wait until the baby is born and get something personalized with the name.

A pack of fresh new pacifiers for the new baby would be nice too. And you could get a cute pacifier clip if you wanted to make it a little cuter than just practical. Loulou Lollipop makes really cute ones.

But make sure she actually plans to use pacifiers first- plenty of moms don’t.

Aden & Anais swaddle blankets are my go-to

6-12 month onsies. Make sure you have the right season.

A new outfit, onesies or sleepers. Yes, she’s probably got hand me dies from her first, but having something new for the new baby is always nice.

I like Hanna Anderson because the cotton is so soft.

I have an opposite gender second and I’m not even big into gender specific ruffles or bows etc. but I used the heck out of my muslin Aden and Anis swaddles with my first (burp cloth, car seat cover, nursing cover, car seat blanket, tablecloth.....) so I personally wouldn’t mind another / more for second.

I wouldn’t want more swaddle blankets. I would want a Hanna Andersson gift card to pick out some new sleepers/PJs, a restaurant gift certificate (that does delivery in my neighborhood), or a new teething toy.

Other ideas from the same poster: if you know the baby’s name, an embroidered hooded towel from PB kids. If you want something simple, new wash cloths would be useful.

My kid refused a pacifier. I'd never give that as a gift (especially off-registry).

I was going to write something cheeky like just send cheese (or a cheesetique gift certificate). I’d love a good water bottle or insulated mug and gift certificate You could tie it to the bottle with ribbon.
