| The CCL model is deeply flawed and outdated. Why are parents still paying for clubs to play in the league. In this area, isn't EDP a better model. Dump CCL and move to EDP. Tell your club leadership. I don't understand why CCL is still around. Why is CCL expanding to NE and Georgia. https://www.soccerwire.com/news/club-champions-league-announces-launch-of-ccl-georgia/ |
We're in it at U12 and I agree. Right now, top teams need to step out of CCL on the boys side to play appropriate competition. Best of CCL, VPL and EDP at U9-12 would be far better than what they are all doing now. Above U12, seems iike just another of many leagues that require unnecessary travel. |
They had to expand to fill the schedule. They were scrambling to put together 8 games this fall. It worst vs anyone thinks. |
| You all need to go away. Don't like it? Don't join. Stupid parents spilling nonsense. |
MSI or evening rec is a better vs CCL but you are a stupid parent and would not know the difference. |
ECNL dad is going after CCL now. Hilarious. |
They have the same club vs club format like Ecnl/GA ect CCL is still doing great things even when other leagues are folding and clubs with Ecnl status can’t even field competitive teams in this area in many of their age groups such as metro, most of Bryc teams outside their 03/02 age groups, and some McLean boys teams. Great clubs like beach fc, SOCA, va legacy play in it outside the northern va area which still makes it a very competitive Leauge. No need to throw shade if you don’t have all the facts.... |
We are in it but I disagree that elite boys need to travel to Charlottesville or Norfolk to play elite clubs. That is nonsense and the competition is highly uneven. Club v club format is driven purely by club and coaching convenience. |
ECNL coach? |
But I do have all the facts. First, the club v club format doesn't make sense. The idea should be that teams schedule games with teams of similar skill, talent and experience. I know parents in Frederick MD and Potomac MD who travel to the tidewater area to either crush or get crushed by a team down there. EDP is a better model as teams move up or down to the division that is the right fit. I am not promoting EDP but it is better than CCL. There are strong teams in CCL but those teams are not being well-served by the league. If CCl went away, EDP would enter and offer a better platform. Parents need to voice their concerns. |
Even EDP offers a club vs club option. The intention of club vs club is geared towards a focus on development without the pressure on wins and losses driving decisions at ages where to do so would be inappropriate. There really is no one size fits all. At certain ages Pro/Rel is fine and other ages it is not. |
Exactly what concerns should they voice? |
That they would like to play 8 leagues in the fall and spring not 3 in the fall and 4 in the spring. |
There are 16 clubs in CCL. your post makes no sense. |
| So many options for consumers and yet CCL is thriving. I'd say that the fact that they have a product that people want and voluntarily paying for, you all are in the minority. You are all parents of elite soccer players and yet there are so few that go on beyond high school or college from this area. You may want rethink your perfect youth environment. |
