Has Potomac Soccer send out any offers yet for current players?
Prior to COVID-19, we were DD was considering to tryout for Potomac but at this point, we don’t know Potomac’s plans. Would really appreciate anyone can shed any information. |
I am not aware of any offers going out. Last I heard they were meeting today to discuss tryouts, but that message was sent a while ago. |
Thank you. I will wait a week to email them to ask about tryouts. |
Not yet |
| I got my returning player offer on Friday, May 22. Credits for spring 2020 were announced prior through teamsnap. Any new players can register to try out as well for when things open up. |
Was the offer sent via email or did you saw it on your bluesombrero account? |

Did Potomac fully refunded the Spring Season?
Also, did they mention anything about fully refunding the Fall 2020 season if play cannot resume? Thank you! |

I am not with this club. But no travel club do full refund for cancelled season.
MSI did the best regarding refund in this area. It did full refund for rec and classic program. |
| Potomac says they will not be refunding fall season if it doesn’t happen, but are asking for tryout fees and player fees now |
Refund Policy and Releases To play for a Potomac Soccer Association team is a full 10-month (9-month for High School teams) commitment to your coach, your teammates and the club for which you accept a roster spot. Players may ask to be released from their team according to the particular guidelines, rules and regulations of their team’s league and in accordance with Maryland State Soccer Youth Association. ALL FEES FOR THE SEASONAL YEAR MUST BE PAID IN FULL TO BE CONSIDERED IN GOOD STANDING UPON RELEASE. PLAYERS THAT DO NOT FULFILL THEIR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS WILL BE REPORTED TO THE STATE ASSOCIATION AS IN BAD STANDING. This policy applies to players who voluntarily request a release from a team prior to the completion of the seasonal year (August 1 to July 31). In the 2020-2021 Season, Potomac Soccer will suspend or delay payments if the season is suspended or delayed. Depending on the length of delay and the impact on services provided, club player registration fees may also be pro-rated. Potomac Soccer is committed to the health and safety of players and providing the best possible programming to ensure continued player growth and development. The current refund policy will remain in effect should normal activities resume. https://www.potomacsoccer.org/Default.aspx?tabid=541658 |
MSI fully refunded all three of their soccer programs: Recreational, Classic (select), and Academy (travel). They fully refunded their Academy players even though NCLS, Soccerplex and the Tournament Organizers did not fully refunded MSI. This is very classy of MSI and is probably the only club in the DMV that fully refunded. They are refunding it right now rather than crediting for the Fall 2020 season. |
MSI has a significant amount of more money than the clubs. They don't pay coaches except the Academy coaches. Comparing MSI to Potomac is comparing apples to oranges. |
Agreed but all clubs pay the same for field rentals at Soccerplex, tournaments and NCSL/EDP. Either way, it’s very classy of MSI to fully refund when they didn’t get all their money back for field rentals, leagues, etc. |
