If you tip 15% on pizza delivery, is the 15% on the pizzas itself, pizzas+tax, or pizzas+tax+delivery fee?
The pizza store online apps suggested tip amount is on top of pizzas+tax+delivery fee. Why do you tip on the delivery charge (which is already $4.5 itself)? |
| I always tip on subtotal no matter the situation. |
| Places can suggest you tip whatever they want. You are free to make your own decision. |
Just tip on the total- t’s not that much more! You’re talking about pizza delivery, not fine dining. How much does the tax jack up the tip? Not a whole heck of a lot, but it makes a difference to the person bringing your meal to your doorstep. |
But ppl could be tricked by that practice. I usually just select 15% suggested by the app without noticing it is on top of tax and delivery charge. That’s cheating. |
This is nonsense. I do not mind to pay extra for the tip, but do not want to be cheated. You realize the delivery charge is already $4.5? |
It is all a scam. |
| DP. How much do you tip for a $37.5 pizza delivery order (= $30 food + $3 tax + $4.5 delivery charge)? |
| Who charges $4.50 for delivery? That seems high. |
Papa John’s, Domino’s, Grubhub all charge $4.49 for delivery fee. |
3 or 4 |
| I’ve been tipping more like $20. I’m lucky to have the means and I want to pay it forward to people who are risking a lot to give us a service. |
You tip $20 on $30 pizza? Good for you to have the means, but not everyone in that position. |
$10. I tip as much as I can within reason. I am extremely thankful for the service. I don’t think the delivery people get the fee. Maybe very little. |
That’s wonderful. |
