Why are clubs so hot to hold “tryouts” and set rosters?
I am trying really hard to reconcile what I am hearing in the news and in business with club sports. Nationally, Dr. Fauci recently announced that sports is off the table for the next season or year. Many Businesses are planning for a minimum of social distancing and contactless activities. How do you reconcile that clubs are about to take payments for contact sports and the business community is planning on social distancing and no contact? |

because if they dont they will fold. period.
what clubs are rushing to have tryouts though? most clubs around here are keeping rosters as is and will supplement later |
Dr Faccioli did not say that! He said some sports MAY... listen everything is opening back up period. |
|
and i would think he was referring to stadiums being filled, basketball, etc. sports are already starting to discuss timelines to restart seasons with empty stands. no fans. |
no, the issue with sports is not just contact, but the viral load created when breather hard and deeply during excercise. |
but, are they offering refunds if they are not able to practice / play league games? |
Go look at the stats on deaths. Not too many at the age that play youth sports. And not too many spectators. And you are 18.7% more likely to get COVID inside. And stop posting your political agenda on a sports thread. Time to report again. |
There will be a lot of movement because of folding of DA. This will hit all clubs. So have a tryout and see who shows up. |
Viral load. Seriously. Because the kids are breathing so hard playing youth soccer? No one in the medical community is discouraging people from going out running. And the people who are most likely to get sick are those with underlying conditions based on, yep, inactivity. |
You have no idea what you are talking about. Please stop spreading fake news. |
Hell no!

I think what we need is “ball-less soccer”
Google it. |
We have that now. It's called "girls soccer" (in most cases, that is!) |
get educated. This is a widely discussed topic in the medical community. Um, the kids in U-14 and up are as big as adults. PP lacks real information. |
