Zoom meeting for ERHS senior parents tonight at 6pm

Hi all,

I read on the ERHS pta digest that there's a zoom meeting for senior parents tonight. Apparently there was also one this morning. I'll post notes, if anyone's interested but can't make it.

Please do! I didn't know about it... or maybe just forgot.

Hi all. OK, this is the short version, and from my notes, so by no means perfect/comprehesive:

Yearbook: in production. Hopefully able to pick them up when they do senior check out, however and whenever that happens. Everyone who bought one will get one.

AP testing: May 15-22, open note. Students need a quiet space to do this. There are systems in place to ensure integrity of test, and be advised that background audio may trip a plagerism/cheating flag. It's open note, but students cannot get assistance from another person. 45 minutes long, scheduled throughout the day.If something weord happens (internet cuts out, kid gets sick), they can request a makeup in June as long as the test wasn't entered. If they don't take the test, they'll get a refund. It doesn't need to be requested.

Senior award ceremony: Thyrsday, May 28 6:30 pm, virtual.

Ms .Hemmel is looking to do something for the Sci Tech RP folks in the winter break window.

Graduation: Ultimately a bit TBD owing to the district waiting to make a decision after getting feedback from students, but as soon as the school hears what the district says, they have a plan A, B. C, D, E, F, and G depending on what is feasable at that time. They understand that this is important to everyone. Reminder for sutdents to keep checking their email.

Cap & Gown: students will receive their caps and gowns. Will be part of senior check out process.

Prom: It's not happening at the Marriott, as there wasn't sufficient flexibility from the venue, and ticket sales hadn't reached a fiscally sustainable threshhold. They do not want to half-bake a prom, so if they can't do it right, they aren't doing it at all. 600 ticket sales is what they usually count on. Out of 600 students surveyed, only 180 responded, and 133 were willing to do a prom as late as August. However, 80% of the survey respondents had already purchased their tickets. There's a scheduled student meeting on Friday, and ticket sales will open up. The new venue is the Camelot in PG. If you can't go and want to request a refund, you can and will get one. If it's cancelled, everyone will get a refund.

I think that about covers it.

'Scuse the typos. Alos note that the school continues to send surveys to students about things, and they really want answers. So encourage your kids to get their email.

Thanks a lot! My kid has kind of checked out of the process. He's saying "I don't care" about everything. But I think he does care, he's just not letting himself feel it.

One thing i know he doesn't care about is the RP thing -- can't see him coming back from college and wanting to spend any time doing that.

OP here. Yeah, I feel you. I believe it. I'm so proud of these young people, and I wish...I don't know what I wish. They seem to be handling it better than I would, I think. Conversely, RP was a thing my son was REALLY into, and he's pretty bummed about it, but also playing the "it's not important" card.
