OP says her mom lost an airport job at the start of April and has already been evicted from her apartment and is now riding around LA via mass transit because her 10 yr old truck broke down. In CA there are all these laws protecting people from being evicted if they lost their job due to COVID.

I wondered about this too. Seems odd as facts don’t quite add up; if lost job start of month wouldn’t be evicted before end of month, and social security doesn’t have any means testing to determine income. But might be the Mom has other problems the daughter doesn’t know about or isn’t discussing.

Yeah I think the mom has a lot more issues that the daughter is either not discussing or not aware of. Her mom may be lying to her a lot.

The poster added that her mom had lost her apartment before Covid and yes there are other factors. So sad. Really brings home the gravity of the situation from just one person's story.

That poster seems pretty authentic to me. Her past posts show that she has been very supportive of others who have posted about their struggles. I feel sorry for her.

Op says mom was evicted and became homeless before job loss, the eviction being for reasons unrelated to COVID. OP has said her mom has issues and is not stable.
