Are many home daycares in VA still open?

Is your home care open? Are you nonessential but still sending your child so you can effectively do your job?
Is your In home open but you are keeping kids home still to not take the risk of exposure through other attending kids’ families?

My preschool (center) is closed. Even when it opens, with about 100 kids and 200 parents involved, the risk of someone testing positive, center getting closed temporarily to get disinfected, and repeating this multiple times, is much higher than say a small in home daycare place with 5 kids and 10 parents. I wonder if I should look into in homes as a viable alternative. Anyone think this through in terms of pros and cons?

Ours hasn't been since March 12. But we're all still getting billed and paying...

Our home daycare is still open but we have the kids home for now to minimize risk. Supposedly they are doing social distancing although I don't see how that is possible with little kids.

In terms of pros and cons I think you have to go back to when you made the decision in the first place re: in home or center as those pros and cons likely still apply.

Ours is open but I haven't sent my kid since everything else shut down. I am not sure how many kids are there and how many are kids of essential workers.

I am struggling with the in home daycare vs. preschool decision myself. My plan was to switch to a preschool but I am worried it will be so much more likely to shut down than a small home daycare. So I keep paying the daycare for now because I don't know what to do. I have to decide by mid-June whether or not to pay for the preschool. I'm thinking I will pay the 1 month of non-refundable preschool tuition that is due in June, keep paying the daycare whether or not my kid attends this summer, and see where things are in Sept. The preschool will be much more developmentally appropriate, but that doesn't much matter if it's closed. This sucks.
