What are your thoughts or experiences on PGT-A testing? Is it necessary? How many are actually found to be abnormal vs normal? I've tried doing research on it but can't find any statistics relating to it. I've also been reading about mosiac embryos.
SGF, it costs $5000. The Clinic in Barbados has the cost at about half that (and company too) but it adds a couple months to the whole process. |
| I did it for my 2 cycles but I was 40 at the time. It depends on your age. My first cycle 1 out of 2 were abnormal. My second cycle both were normal. However, my same clinic did not recommend it for a friend who used a donor egg because the egg was from a 20 something. It also depends on if you have previously failed cycles. I know someone who had 7 failed transfers then tested embryos implanted one and had her first son. Implanted another tested embryo and got her second son. She was also 40. |
| We did it and got 5 embryos total and only two normal so we are set to transfer one next month. The abnormals were trisomy and not mosaic so I'm glad we paid the extra $2000 to do PGT, my RE at Dominion strongly advised doing it bc I'm 40 and have had 2 miscarriages. |

I meant to add this link, they have genetic counselors you can speak to about PGT

We tested 4 embryos over 2 cycles. 3 were normal. DD is currently 4 Months.
I had 2 transfers of untested embryos prior to those 2 cycles. Both were BFN. It was worth it to me. |
| We had 7 embryos that made it to blastocysts. Did PGS testing and only 5 were normal. Was very grateful to have done the testing. |
| young 20's donor, did PGT anyway, 1/3 was abnormal. It all depends on how you feel about miscarriages or terminating for medical reasons. I've had enough miscarriages, I figured given that I had spent all of this money for donor eggs I could spend a little bit more and not transfer bad embryos. |
