Can we take a cab and put the carseat in the cab? If not, I guess we'll take a bus to the subway. Any other options I'm not thinking of?
kidcarny.org (or .com) its a private firm that comes with a car in a carseat... however. last i checked, it was uber-expensive... if you're willing to take your car seat along and snap it into a cab, that's probably the easiest thing...
Yes, just put the carseat in back seat of the cab and use the seatbelt to buckle it in. It is maybe a 20 minute ride, it will be far easier than trying to do bus/subway.
Thanks. Looked up kidcarny -- was $125 from the airport to our hotel! A neat service, though. I think we will try to do the cab and carseat thing.
OP here -- found a cab/limo company (Legends) that will pick us up, and they will bring a car seat to us for $5 more. $50 from Laguardia to midtown.
OP, we don't fly to NYC, instead, we take the Amtrak from Union Station in D.C. to Penn Station in midtown Manhattan. Then catch the subway to the Hotel. Very convenient.
I think we would normally do this, too, but we found roundtrip tickets for $100!
a very good deal. |
OP, you may want to check if the carseat is already installed -- and what experience they have in installing car seats. From what I have heard about car rentals, they will give you a carseat and it is up to you to install it. So you may want to confirm that the same situation will not apply, as you don't want to be figuring out how to install a car seat you have never seen before.
