I'm 7 weeks pregnant and yesterday night, after using the toilet I notice a brown discharge in the toilet paper, but nothing in my panties, it was more like brownish mucus. This morning it was gone. But since this morning I've been experiencing light crampings and 5 minutes ago that I went to the loo again, I saw a light brown spot in my underwear (the size of a penny) and again when I cleaned it, I saw it again on the toilet paper. What is this? Should I call my doctor? Is this a cause for concern? I'm very nervous..... |
Could be something or could be nothing, which I am sure you don't want to hear. I would call the doc, maybe they'd fit you in for a scan. |
I had brown discharge around the time I would be getting pd. and all was okay- but check with dr. |
I would check with your doctor. they should be able to do an ultrasound and hear a heartbeat at 7 weeks pregnancy. I had spotting on and off for the first 10 weeks (every few weeks I'd get it for a couple of days) and I'm now 27 weeks and it was apparently just old blood. I was very happy to hear a h/b at a little less than 7 weeks and now that I was doing okay. |
Of course, call you doctor. But I understand it's bright red blood that is a concern, not so much the brown stuff. |
did you find out what this is? I'm seeing something similar... |
I've had it go both ways-spotted with brown old blood, and went on to miscarry. With my son, I started spotting at 5 weeks while we were in the theatre, told my husband, here comes another miscarriage, spotted all week, had him 9 months later. Could be nothing or could be something. It's horrible to go through though-I'd get an u/s. |
I had that at both 4 and 8 weeks (around the time I was supposed to get my period) and am now 8 months pregnant. I think it was just old blood from implantation. Calling your doctor wouldn't hurt though. |
since you are cramping, I would definitely call. |
Everyone says not to worry about brown spotting but I had very light brown spotting last summer and had an early miscarriage (6 weeks). I brown spotting again early in this pregnancy but the baby is fine. Definitely call your practitioner -- they will most likely schedule you for an u/s. Brown spotting is often associated with a blighted ovum which is what I had the first time. |
