I think I somehow missed how recent the meetings were. He’s only resigned from the face of the firm - he’s still there and has all of his shares right? Some of these mfrs are going to try and ride this out.

Gunter made a haunting point in the comments. Basic but hard to accept. All of these interactions legitimized Epstein and let him abuse more kids, and I’d argue that goes for keeping Maxwell in polite society. The Clintons permitting Ghislane Maxwell to attend as a +1 at Chelsea’s wedding - widely covered - after JE’s sex offense conviction is totally totally insane. There is no way at all that they both would not have known that. No way. There are ten thousand examples of this but I’m highlighting this because I refuse to pretend that the Clintons are maligned heroes in this.

1. So I have been looking at Jean-Luc's emails with JE. He owned the modeling company that was used to procure girls. Back in 2007, there's some emails regarding a 2007 civil complaint or preparation for a complaint against Elite Models. Jean-Luc and Epstein both bummed and in one email Jean Luc tells Epstein he's in for a bad year. Anyone know what that would have been about?

Paul Weiss has a specific comment line on Karp. l don't know the number as I called the main number in NY and was transferred. I did find tel.# for the man who took karp's place and expressed my outrage and asked if they had a 13 year old daughter would they allow her to be in a closed room with Karp.

I think that we differentiate between the actual sexual abusers, the enablers and the image rehabilitaters. Not making excuse for any of them, but they all have different degrees of complexity.

The abusers and enablers should be in jail. The rehabilitators should be shunned, but they won’t be. They will just laugh about it at their elite parties.

I agree with avoiding any talk that degrades people on a quasi-eugenic basis.

The emails reminded me of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing. The most successful cross came from Sheldon Whitehouse: he made references across Kav’s diary-calendars to correlate what Blasey Ford and Kav each said about social practices and what happened at that party. This can be done across the whole body of e-mails but it will take a ton of time. Lots of high-profile people have already been outed as “off” by years in terms of their last claimed date of communication with Epstein. Even accepting that a ton of stuff was destroyed, there’s a chance the public will learn a lot.
