Why did you delete my question about mask laws?

Anonymous
I really would like to know whether the mask orders are unconstitutional or not. I am in full support of Bowsers mask recommendations and Hogan's mask orders but I'd like to know how to argue with people who say these are unconstitutional. I'm not a law scholar and thought I could get some insight here. Is this controversial?

The post shows up when I search the health and medicine forum:
Mask order unconstitutional? , posted on Health and Medicine, at 04/20/2020 22:30,

But when I click on it, it asks me to log in and it is not visible in the health and medicine forum when I scroll through.

Now I remember that post. I deleted it because I thought it was a troll post. At any rate, here is Hogan's order which lays out his authorities:

Yes. I’ve read that. These people one Facebook think it’s unconstitutional and unlawful to require face masks. So I wondered if someone could supply the legal basis for that. Not a troll.

The only "basis for that" is 100% idiocy. They are idiots. They do not understand "emergency orders" so they automatically start saying their rights are being contradicted. Its BS. They're just FOOLS.

Outside of emergency orders, the government still manages to enforce clothing standards. For instance, I can't run around my neighborhood naked claiming that the government has no right to make me wear pants (in public). If you accept this, then a reasonable being should be able to accept that the government can enforce other clothing standards as it desires. The only exceptions that currently exist are related to religious practices but no religion requires you to run around in public naked.

I'm looking for info about how the governor's proclamation is legal.
Other laws are passed through the regular law-making process.
This is a governor's order based on the MD public health emergency law.
Their argument is that this law does not give him the authority to "proclaim" that we have to wear masks.
So I ask again, what is the legal basis for this?

Anyone?

I know they are fools. I get it, but ad homenim attacks don't go very far in civil exchange.

If you truly want an answer, email the Governor's office and ask them for the referenced law. You would likely be one of many to do so.

Governors and Presidents are the chief executive. As such, they can issue executive orders. Until the legality of the order is challenged in court, it stands. Naturally, most governors would not issue an order likely to be found illegal due to the future political blowback. This authority is likely implicit as the head of state and explicit in the Constitution of Maryland. No, you won't find a specific passage that allows the governor to force you to wear a mask but a broad statute granting broad authority unless otherwise restricted.

What I don't get is why you are even bothering. You might as well eat a diaper, it will be just as constructive.

It’s ad hominem. Don’t use big words you can’t spell.
