Pay tuition or unenroll are our options. Would you go? |
Wow. Is this in the dc area? Cases are still rapidly rising |
Where is this? Right now daycares are only open for essential personnel in MD. VA? Somewhere else?
Do you like the place? Are your kids happy? At this point, there is an ultimatum but recognize they hold the cards. If your kids get sick - there is no at fault for them. Have they discussed what their practices will be- checking temps every morning for staff and children. Doing hand offs in the parking lots with parents to minimize exposure? Washing hands more for kids? Increased cleaning and strerilization services? |
If they are paying their staff and haven't received PPP funding, they may rely solely on tuition. If you decide not to pay, they may need to offer your spot to someone who will. |
DC |
My kid is very happy there but will also be starting pre-k in the fall... |
It depends on how badly you need care right now. It’s definitely a risk. |
I would unenroll. They aren’t going to find a new family to take a preK spot between now and fall, so you can always go back. I would answer differently for any other age. |
I’m in the same boat (although not in DC, in flyover country, in a county with only a couple cases). I badly need care but would feel awful if my son got sick. I am leaning towards sending him, but my husband objects. Of course, I do most of the care, so why wouldN’t he object... |
