Playing fields open anywhere?

We're in DC and there are literally no open, smooth spaces to practice on. I keep seeing videos posted on Instagram by DD's club team of players practicing on turf. I would love to know where this is. This is awful that all these athletes can't even practice on their own.

Maybe private schools? I know FCPS fields are closed, many locked up. I saw photos from my neighbors practicing and they go to private.

My kids go to a private in Fairfax County and they have said no use of any fields. Where are these kids all playing?!

Well as I walk through our neighborhood park with a turf soccer field and regular baseball field, there are still people practicing there in small groups despite the signs and blocking of the parking lot. I guess the rules don’t apply to them. This is a FFX county park btw, and they just park on the street across from the park.

My neighbor said the Northern Virginia Regional Park’s golf courses are starting to open next weekend with employees only, no volunteer staff.

There are so many open fields in Virginia and Maryland to practice. To name a few:

Longfellow MS in Falls Church
Franklin Sherman ES in McLean
Cooper MS in McLean
Hoover MS in Potomac
Robert Frost MS in Rockville

There is a huge grass field across the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda.

Yes that happened to me at Robert Frost MS last week. The police came by because someone called. The cop talked to us about proper social distancing and that we should not have more than 10 in a group (we had 8). After that, the cop said have fun with soccer and left.

it is not true. My kid plays soccer with five other kids at Franklin Sherman yesterday and they even said hi to the security officer who drove through the school. No issue.

We also ride bikes in theFCPS parking lots with no issue. Wave to the landscaping crew and guard.

The fields are actually closed. But, I have seen, too, police officers are not saying anything to people using the fields.
