Infertility Support and Discussion
|
For anyone in the DC area who is TTC, my experience with Dr. Dimattina, Dr. Gordon, and the staff of Dominion Fertility has been outstanding. I switched from another fertility clinic in the area, and with my complete medical records, I did not have to re-do all sorts of tests. The transition was effortless and I was trying natural cycle IVF quickly. My embryo transfer came on the day of the huge snowstorm in DC in December. Dr. Gordon called me the day before the storm, and because I wanted to give my morula a chance to become a blastocyst, he acceded to my wishes to wait for transfer until storm day. That Saturday morning, a doctor, a nurse, and two embryologists made it on unplowed roads to the clinic, where the transfer occurred.
Although I didn't become pregnant, I believe that Dominion is as anxious to see me pregnant as I am, and that they will do anything they can to make it happen. I believe sometimes a successful outcome requires personalized care, and Dominion provides that, in a professional. and kind, way. I highly recommend them. -TTC P.S. I have found Dr. D to be both compassionate and not at all threatened by my questions -- he always responds with as much information as I'm willing, or able, to absorb. That is another contrast to my previous experience at another clinic. |
| I know you probably won't want to say, but I would really like to know what 'other' clinic you were going to. I wanted to switch & go to Dominion but my insurance wasn't covered there. So I can't even consider that option. I go to Shady Grove. I have been for over a year. Is that the clinic you speak of? |

Couldn't have conveyed my opinions about Dominion Fertility any better.
May you get the baby you desire, through the use of whatever fertility treatment you seek... (BTW, I am a MoM of twins, helped by DF over a year ago, now. I sat, during that storm, actually wondering what would happen to the patients who were cycling that day...I am glad you told your story!) WE.LOVE.DOMINION |
| I don't know for sure, but I imagine Shady Grove was open on the day of the storm too. |

Well...I don't think the OP was suggesting that other fertility centers in the area were not open...or weren't taking care of their patients...or were/were not doing whatever!
I think the OP was saying how happy they were with Dominion...and in NO WAY specifically mentioned any other fertility center in the area. It is amazing to me, that no matter how Dominion patients try to convey their positive experiences or make positive comments...a discussion evolves regarding Dominion Fertility vs. Shady Grove. NOTHING disparaging was said about Shady Grove (or any OTHER local fertility center, BY NAME) by the OP. NOTHING. Why can't we take this post for what it was? A testimonial from a happy DF patient? I understand where you are coming from, OP...when you have found a fertility center that you really click with, because this is SO difficult, you want to share with others. WE.LOVE.DOMINION |

I too had an excellent experience with Dr. D & staff. They were caring, punctual, answered all of my questions, always responded to my phone calls within a few hours (at most) and when we finally, finally, finally had good news...they saved my phone call for the last of the day and all cheered. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

| I don't know why the Dominion vs SG is such a polarizing issue. I have been a patient at both clinics. I have been successful in getting pregnant at both clinics. Yes, they are different (size being the biggest difference). If you don't click with the staff/treatment at either clinic, then by all means, switch to a different clinic. But don't berate a poster who is offering her opinion/experience. |
Raise your hand if you are SICK.OF.THIS.ONE. |
| LOL. Funny how THIS.ONE. only appears in the Dominion/DiMattina threads. |
