Does anyone have any feedback or experience with the Walden Montessori in Bethesda? |
Our DC attended for a year. Great facilities. Great teachers. The administrator -- not so great. FWIW, we also had experience with another Montessori program that we are much happier with. |
To PP, if you don't mind me asking, which Montessori was that?
Thanks for your time & the feedback. |

I have a child at Walden and have mixed experience. Overall, I do like it. I have had great experience with the administrator, but I know someone else who had a bad one. I think that they really care about the kids and their education. The only downside that I have found is that the teacher of my child's class is not as warm as I would expect a preschool teacher to be. She's a great teacher though and knows what she's doing. I think it depends on the child. I would recommend the school, but with that condition. |
To PP: My child will be in one of the 3-6 year old classrooms. Which teacher do you recommend? |

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments & feedback. |
Just saw the question on my post. My child is in Mrs Basu's class. I have heard great things about Mrs Strickland. She's the "warmer" of the two teacher. Mrs Basu is an excellent educator and really has a sixth sense for any issues that arise. If you have a shy, sensitive child, I'd probably recommend Mrs Strickland. I'd suggest observing both teachers for about 20-30 minutes to get an idea of their styles. |
