Do you prepare for a skype or video chat date?

At all? If so, how? I'm about to go on my first one. I don't like video chat in general.

I hate video chat. Think I look much worse than in person. Would never do that.

Yes I do- I put on some make up and brush my hair. I put on something bright and a scarf. I position my ipad so I'm not looking down on it. I turn on the camera, check the angle, the lighting and the background. I have been using the window bench in my bedroom for video chats. It's next to a window so the lighting is good during the day. At night I have to move a bedside lamp to improve the lighting. I changed around two prints on the walls so the bright colorful one appears behind me. I make sure I have a glass of water at close hand and that other people in the house know I'm on a call to minimize disturbance.

What do you mean by date? Like an actual date? Or talking to a friend?

Yes I don't like it for that reason either. Video adds 10.

It sounds like a lot of work but I like the ideas. Finding the right lighting is work. Thanks for the iPad idea. I hardly use it but could have a better camera. He just thinks I should turn on my phone camera soon as I wake up lol.

No, but I'm on video calls all day for work, so I'm well over fearing what I look like. Everyone looks terrible on video calls, whatever.

Sometimes it's awkward when the guy dresses up and I'm in a hoody.

I put on make up and change into a nice shirt. Make sure the laptop is propped up so the camera isn't angled at my chin or up my nose.
