"It's not happening! It's not happening!! I don't believe it!!!"
|
| Done! Man US Soccer is a sh#t show. |
Yeah. All those years of suffering through horrendous soccer to get a nonexistent edge in line to a DA that no longer exists. If Oscar sticks around, he oughta get their U9-11 in order. They have a huge player pool and don’t appear to do anything to develop it properly. |
Do not look for that to happen. Their model is one coach two teams for the u littles...so one coach for 24 ish girls in the key time to develop kids. |
| ^I’ve always maintained it’s not a development club. They are a top down organization. They always looked to draw talent/player/$ at the older ages but do t use that $ to invest in development of the younger players which often get cast aside in the later years for recruited players. At the youngest ages they capitalize on the enormous size of their player pool that dwarfs others in the area. But- those players are expendable. 90% of the player pool in an age group they see merely as a revenue stream. There is not a cohesive training development plan it’s at the whim of whatever coach you get assigned to that year. Often not able to coach because of conflicts with other teams. |
Yep. Their pride and joy, claim to fame while ignoring the majority of the club. |
Hopefully he has the espn app, they just sent a push notification about it |
This should be obvious to all families... right???? |
It’s not. I always think what if they actually built a program where they took that huge pool at u9 and developed it. One coach for 12 players, standardized the age group, work on technical development u9-u12...man you would have some very strong teams at u13 and up. |
| Arlington Soccer argument over kickball soccer? who cares. |
| What a sh%@t show. So glad my son is playing soccer in college and sort of glad he is thinking of leaving his college team. The future of college soccer is in serious doubt. |

Good analysis of DA termination
https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4085801/us-soccer-ends-development-academy-as-mls-announces-youth-league 1: Money -- 12M a year? wow, how much ECNL spent? 2: MLS favor 3: GDA issue/USWNT equality impact 4: Tiered system -- last straw 5: COVID19 -- lame excuse Looking forward - More regional competitions |
The training part of this is simply not true. The DA training was by far the best training my DD has ever had. |
