Need aftermarket backup camera installed on Audi A3

Good, reputable place in northern VA?

Recommendations please.

Not from NOVA, so I don’t know the local independent shops.
I do know that Best Buy can and does do this kind of work.

You can do this yourself. It’s very easy.

It depends on the car and the camera. Running the wire to the headunit can be a giant pain in the ass.

I used Best Buy for my 06 Camry - easy peasy.

Yes. A3 already has a Nav screen. Just need a backup camera and parking sensors.

Oooh. And you were happy with the outcome? The only reason I’m thinking of replacing my 2010 Camry is that I want a backup cam...

Yep, it was a piece of cake. Granted, I was able to go in-store at the time, but you just tell them the year, make, and model of your car, and their computer spits out the options. For me, I had a CarPlay video screen installed, along with the backup camera. The equipment cost around $400, and the install was free because I had an annual Best Buy service plan. It has added years to my car.

Why not just trade in your current A3 for a new one?

Well maybe Op doesn’t want a new car payment. It’s not like buying a pair of jeans.

OP here.

We bought the A3 used. Great deal. Figured we would add backup camera and sensors after market.

A used A3 with this type of package is $2k more.

We're no longer in the DC area, so I can't recommend an installer, but we got a backup camera added to my 2013 A5 convertible. It connects to the existing display screen and I'm very pleased with the image quality.

And, for snarky pp, I don't want a new car. Mine is a low-mileage creampuff and the A5 cabriolet body style is going to be a classic (someone offers to buy it every time we take it in for service).
