I feel like there's been a run on home workout equipment!

Not really a surprise, when I think about it, but I'm looking to buy a set of dumbbells, and good lord, they are expensive! Anybody have good tips for where to look? Maybe a local gym selling stuff?

I live in Seattle where things closed down relatively early. There hasn’t been home equipment in stores since early March. Used cardio machines and weights have been listed for 2x the new price on Craigslist and I notice posts only last a few hours. There were some CrossFit gyms that unloaded equipment on Craigslist early on but I haven’t seen much listed since then. A few small gyms have let members take home portable equipment (like kettlebells), so that might be an option for you. My advice to you is that if you see anything for sale, snap it up! Things are getting tough out here because w don’t have much open space because of the hilly topography of the area. Sidewalks and roads are congested and state parks, college playing fields, many trails, beaches, and forest service land are all closed. There just aren’t a lot of places to work out.

You can get SUCH a good workout using own body weight.

My husband has had the best home gym for so many years, always moved from station to station with us. As he's gotten older, he preferred going to the gym though, so just this year he started selling off some bigger pieces. He's now rebuying them, sometimes triple the cost. So darn frustrating, but people are really taking advantage of the need and are getting top dollar!
