Infertility Support and Discussion

Aka, an IUI without drugs (clomid or injectibles), but still with the trigger shot, monitoring, etc.? I did an IUI the first time around (and took clomid), and it worked on the first try. Our DS is 16 months. We are starting to think about #2 now, and the thought of the potential for multiples is daunting - for a variety of reasons, I do NOT want twins.
Our issues are mild male factor (borderline morphology- around 7%), and borderline FSH (I am 31 and my FSH is 8.5). Does anyone know of any clinics who would do this? We were at Shady Grove previously. |
| Shady Grove does natural IUIs. |
| I think the statistics show a very minimal increase in success rates over timed intercourse, so I'm not really sure it's worth it. |
| I've done 2 completely unmedicated (no trigger either) - the first ended BFN. I find out the about the second one tomorrow. Statistics aren't great with unmedicated cycles at all. Up to a 20% success rate I believe - about the same as timed intercourse. |

I have done a natural IUI at GIVF which failed. Actually all my IUI cycles at GIVF failed. If you are goign to do a natural cycle, go to Shady Grove. They know what they are doing |
| If you are going to do natural cycle IUI then you would probably be better off doing NCIVF. |
| I've done 3 cycles with no luck. It's tough, I've read that the chances really don't improve that much over timed intercourse. But it is a nice stepping stone, in my mind, if you're not quite ready for IVF and medicated IUI isn't an option. Best of luck to you. |
